EBA Issues Consultations on Supervisory Reporting Framework 2.9

    August 28, 2018

EBA launched three public consultations on amendments to the implementing technical standards on supervisory reporting for the reporting framework 2.9. The three consultations involve implementing standards on reporting amendments for FINREP, COREP securitization, and COREP liquidity coverage ratio (LCR). EBA will move to a new modular release for the reporting framework 2.9 and is, therefore, also publishing its forward schedule of the modular release to help users in their planning. Consultation on COREP LCR ends on October 26, 2018 while consultations on FINREP and COREP securitization end on November 27, 2018.

The proposed changes to the implementing standards on supervisory reporting, which are part of the EBA reporting framework 2.9, aim to keep reporting requirements in line with the changes in the regulatory framework and with the evolving needs for risk assessments by supervisory authorities. The three consultation papers cover the following areas:

    • COREP—Major revision of securitization templates (simple, transparent and standardized, or STS, regulation)
    • FINREPAmendment of non-performing and forborne exposures reporting, P&L, and IFRS 16
    • COREP-LCRReview based on the upcoming new LCR delegated act

EBA has started preparations for the next reporting framework release (version 2.9). As the amendments to the reporting framework will apply from different reference dates due to different application dates in the underlying regulatory requirements, the modular components of each reporting release have been also published and applied at different points in time to mirror those reference dates. This will have an impact on the release plan of the technical package, which needs to take into account different application dates. In September, EBA will publish draft Data Point Models on the proposed changes to COREP, FINREP, and LCR reporting. The EBA reporting framework is foreseen to apply to submission of data as of December 31, 2019 (packages 2.9.1 and 2.9.4), March 31, 2020 (package 2.9.2), and April/May 2020 (package 2.9.3).
