EBA Updates Mapping Between Reporting Data and Pillar 3 Disclosures

    May 24, 2022

The European Banking Authority (EBA) updated the mapping between technical standards on Pillar 3 disclosures and technical standards on supervisory reporting. The updated mapping applies to the EBA reporting framework 3.0 and the implementing technical standards on Pillar 3 public disclosures of institutions.

As part of the updated mapping, EBA published a mapping tool that specifies the mapping between quantitative disclosure data points and the relevant supervisory reporting data points. This update is part of the overall EBA objective to make the reporting and disclosure process more efficient and less costly for banks, to facilitate compliance with disclosure requirements, and to improve the consistency and quality of the information disclosed. The amendments  respond to the recommendations included in the EBA Study of the cost of compliance with supervisory reporting requirements and mainly address issues raised by competent authorities and the industry. The published mapping tool addresses changes with respect to the regulatory capital related template (EU CCyB1), risk-weighted exposure template (EU OV1), key metrics template (EU KM1), credit risk related templates (EU CR1, EU CR3, EU CR6 & 6A, EU CR9 & 9.1), securitization template (EU SEC2-4), forborne exposure related templates (EU CQ1, EU CQ6-8), the leverage ratio templates (EU LR1 & 2) and the net stable funding ratio template (EU LIQ2). The mapping applies to the EBA reporting framework 3.0, which was expected to apply from June 30, 2021 and comprises amendments linked to the Capital Requirements Regulation and Directive (CRR2/CRD5), the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD2), and the Investment Firms Regulation (IFR).
