EBA Publishes Aggregate Statistical Data for the Banking Sector in EU

    November 30, 2018

EBA updated all the information disclosed by the competent authorities in EU according to the implementing technical standards on supervisory disclosure, which was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on June 04, 2014. This information, published in an aggregated format, provides an overview of the implementation and transposition of the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD IV) and Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) across EU.

The published information includes aggregate statistical data on key aspects of the implementation of prudential framework in each member state. The disclosures include national statistical data on the banking sector, credit risk, operational risk, market risk, and supervisory actions and measures. The published information also provides a detailed picture of the use of options and national discretions by each competent authority as well as information on the general criteria and methodologies used for the purpose of the supervisory review and evaluation process (SREP). The information disclosed on the implementation and transposition of the CRD IV package covers all EU jurisdictions—including information provided by ECB (under Single Supervisory Mechanism or SSM)—and Liechtenstein. For this purpose, ECB provides information related to the supervision of significant credit institutions within the SSM while national competent authorities of SSM participating member states disclose information for less significant credit institutions.
