The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) published a circular on amendments to the August 2011 guidance on governance of banks. The amendments relate to the composition of board of directors, formation of board of directors, number of qualified board members, and executive and non-executive board members. CBE also published a circular updating the rules for licensing and registration of banks and representative offices of foreign banks.
