ESMA Updates Q&As on Securitization and Benchmarks Regulations in EU
ESMA updated the question and answer (Q&A) documents on various regulations under its purview, including data reporting under the Securities Financing Transactions Regulation, the Benchmarks Regulation (BMR), and the Securitization Regulation. The updated Q&A document on SFTR data reporting includes answers to new questions related to reporting of changes to the reference rate in a Securities Financing Transaction. In the Q&A document on BMR, ESMA updated answers to questions related to EU climate transition benchmarks, EU Paris-aligned benchmarks, and sustainability-related disclosures for benchmarks. ESMA has also provided new and modified answers to questions related to disclosure requirements and templates under the Securitization Regulation.
The Q&A documents are intended to promote common, uniform, and consistent supervisory approaches and practices in the day-to-day application of regulations. The Q&A tool is a practical convergence tool used to promote common supervisory approaches and practices in the implementation of various regulations.
