French Financial Markets Authority Sets Out Priorities for 2022

    January 05, 2022

The French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) published its 2022 work priorities, along with the supervisory priorities for 2022. AMF plans to continue to support market participants that are mobilized by the gradual application of the new transparency requirements under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. With respect to the 2022 work priorities, the key topics AMF will focus on include retail investment, sustainable finance, and the modernization of its regulatory initiatives.

As part of the key work priorities,

    • AMF will support companies in implementing the European taxonomy and contribute to the development of sustainability reporting standards.
    • AMF is making the fight against greenwashing a priority in 2022, with the implementation of the European transparency framework, proposals for appropriate labels and standards, and continued work on the contribution of finance to the transition to carbon neutrality.
    • AMF intends to push for a European framework that protects investors, while facilitating their access to capital markets. To this end, AMF has already made several regulatory proposals and will play a full part in the discussions on a European retail investment strategy.
    • AMF intends to pass further milestones in the transformation of its communications with Paris financial market participants, plans to generalize data processing to serve all the functional units, and intends to overhaul the work organization at AMF against the backdrop of the renovation of its offices and the expansion of teleworking.
