CBB Publishes New Rulebook Module on Crypto-Assets
CBB published a new module on crypto-assets (Module CRA), along with the glossary of defined terms under Volume 6 of the CBB Rulebook, following a consultation. The new requirements cover the licensing and supervision of crypto-asset exchanges and other crypto-asset services including trading, dealing, advisory, and portfolio management in accepted crypto-assets as principal, agent, or custodian. The contents of this module become effective from the date of release of the module.
CBB has recognized that the market for crypto-assets has been growing globally and issuance of these new rules will bring the crypto-asset dealings under the regulatory perimeter. The new rules and the relevant industry feedback statement shall be available on CBB website under Volume 6 in due course.
