CBIRC is consulting on the "Decision of the State Council on Amending the Regulations on the Administration of Foreign Banks of the People's Republic of China." This consultation is a part of the revision of relevant laws and regulations, in line with the further opening up of the financial industry. The revised regulation will allow a foreign bank to establish a wholly owned bank and a foreign branch in the territory of the People's Republic of China, , or simultaneously establish Sino-foreign joint-venture banks and foreign bank branches. The consultation ends on November 25, 2018.
