    PRA Publishes Annual List of G-SIIs and O-SIIs

    PRA released the annual list of UK firms designated as other systemically important institutions (O-SIIs), along with the 2019 list of UK-headquartered global systemically important institutions (G-SIIs). For the G-SIIs, PRA also disclosed the respective sub-categories, applicable scores, and G-SII buffers, which will apply from January 01, 2021. The G-SIIs for 2019 are HSBC Holding Plc, Barclays Plc, and Standard Chartered Plc, with the buffers of 2.0%, 1.5%, and 1.0%, respectively. The list of G-SIIs and their sub-category allocations is also to be updated annually.

    PRA has conducted the O-SII identification process for 2019, as set out in the statement of policy on the PRA approach to identifying O-SIIs. Based on the methodology for O-SII identification, PRA has designated fifteen firms as O-SIIs based on data as at December 31, 2018.
