JFSA Consults on BCBS Pillar 3 Disclosure Requirements

    June 23, 2017

JFSA launched a consultation on the revision of Pillar 3 disclosure requirements. The proposed revisions are in line with the Basel Committee’s revised disclosure requirements under Pillar 3 of the international Basel standards, which were published in January 2015. The revisions do not consider the Basel Committee’s March 2017 revisions to the Pillar 3 disclosure requirements.

The revisions can be outlined as follows:

Review/addition of qualitative and quantitative disclosure items related to denominator of existing capital ratio (including credit risk and market risk)

For quantitative disclosure items, establish a common disclosure style and stipulate on announcement as a separate sheet form

Regulations on the simplification of single unit disclosure

Other required revisions (including required revisions to domestic standards)

Comments Due Date: July 24, 2017

    Effective Date: March 31, 2018
