FSB Publishes Responses to Proposed Governance Arrangements for UTI
FSB published public responses to the consultation on proposed governance arrangements for the Unique Transaction Identifier (UTI). This consultation was launched on March 13, 2017 and the comment period ended on May 05, 2017. FSB expects to publish conclusions from the consultation later in 2017.
The consultation identifies key criteria for the UTI governance arrangements, along with the rationale for a number of these criteria. It also identifies UTI governance functions to be performed, including a mapping of those functions into three broad areas of governance. FSB proposes the allocation of some functions to specific bodies while identifying options for the allocation of other functions. As part of the key criteria, the FSB proposes that the governance arrangements should seek to avoid unnecessary complexity and should take due account of existing resources and arrangements.
