RBNZ Updates Policy on Liquidity Risk Management by Banks
RBNZ updated its liquidity policy for the management of liquidity risk by registered banks. Among others, the policy document covers standard conditions of registration under this liquidity policy, quantitative requirements, qualitative requirements and guidelines, and requirements for public disclosure and regulatory reporting. The policy document also sets out the method of calculation for quantitative requirements. The liquidity policy is intended to contribute to the smooth functioning of the financial system by reducing the likelihood of liquidity problems affecting a registered bank and by promoting registered banks’ capability to manage such problems.
