EBA Provides Clarity on Implementation of Guidance on COVID Reporting
EBA updated the report on the implementation of selected COVID-19 policies. EBA has added a new section in the report with the frequently asked questions on the implementation of guidelines on reporting and disclosure of exposures for certain measures applied in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Since publication of these guidelines on COVID-19 reporting and disclosures, several points including, technical questions, have been brought to the attention of EBA by supervisors and credit institutions. In section 4 of the report, EBA clarifies these points to assist supervisors and credit institutions in the implementation of the guidelines.
The EBA report, which was first published on July 07, 2020, aims to provide a follow-up on the implementation issues surrounding COVID-19 credit risk policy relief measures, specifically the guidelines on loan moratoria. As a significant number of issues have arisen and may continue to arise in the context of the EBA monitoring of the implementation of COVID-19 policies, EBA expects to update the report at a later stage.
