FED Updates the Reporting Instructions for FR Y-15 and FR Y-14A/Q

    April 12, 2018

Among the FED information collections that have been under review, FED updated the reporting instructions for form FR Y-15, which is the banking organization systemic risk report. FED also published reporting form and instructions for form FR Y-14A, along with reporting form, instructions, and technical instructions for FR Y-14Q, which are the capital assessments and stress testing reports.

FR Y-15 report collects systemic risk data from large U.S. bank holding companies, covered savings and loan holding companies, and intermediate holding companies. FED uses the FR Y-15 data to monitor the systemic risk profile of the institutions that are subject to enhanced prudential standards under section 165 of the Dodd-Frank Act. In addition, FR Y-15 is used to facilitate the implementation of surcharge for global systemically important banks (G-SIBs), identify other institutions that may present significant systemic risk, and analyze the systemic risk implications of proposed mergers and acquisitions.

FR Y-14A report collects detailed data on bank holding companies' (BHCs) and intermediate holding companies' (IHCs) quantitative projections of balance sheet assets and liabilities, income, losses, and capital across a range of macroeconomic scenarios and qualitative information on methodologies used to develop internal projections of capital across scenarios. FR Y-14Q collects detailed data on BHC and IHC various asset classes, capital components, and categories of pre-provision net revenue (PPNR) on a quarterly basis.
