For the third consecutive year, Louise Green, general manager of marketing at Moody’s Analytics, wins in the category of reference data professional of the year.

Green spent last year helping customers and her team adapt to a virtual work environment. Among her projects was working with product strategists to roll out enhanced credit risk functions within Bureau van Dijk’s Credit Catalyst platform, using data from Orbis, the firm’s comprehensive entity database, which houses information on more than 400 million companies around the globe.

“The economic uncertainty combined with a need for businesses to continue to deliver means more pressure,” she says. “Firms still need to evaluate credit risk and onboard new suppliers and other third parties—in fact, the pandemic required many companies to source entirely new suppliers, including providers of personal protective equipment (PPE). Regulations, such as AML6, continue to evolve and our customers need to be ready for them. We’re supporting our customers by delivering new risk scores, new functionality, and new data sources.”

She is also a co-chair of Moody’s Analytics UK Women’s Business Resource Group. “We should all be equal at work. But in the UK today, the gender pay gap is 18.4%. Women earn and save hundreds of thousands of pounds less than their male counterparts over the course of their careers because of maternity breaks and part-time working while caring for others, so they’re often not as well provided for in retirement. We can all reflect on whether we behave in ways that reinforce these inequalities. The Women’s Business Resource Group aims to amplify the successes of women employees and to discuss ways to make sure equality in the workplace thrives.”

On Green’s agenda this year is a digital campaign activity promoting the DataHub, a new cloud-based analytical platform that integrates data from across Moody’s, including its affiliates, and enables financial and risk decision-makers to explore, analyze and consume a wide range of relevant information.
