    History of Wall Street Analytics

Moody’s Corporation acquired Wall Street Analytics, a leading provider of specialized software and data tools for the structuring, analysis, management, and servicing of structured debt instruments, in 2006.

Wall Street Analytics - Part of Moody’s Analytics

The acquisition broadened Moody’s Analytics capabilities and added an unsurpassed level of expertise in working with issuers, investment bankers, and investors to develop software and analytical tools for the structured finance market. In particular, the addition of Wall Street Analytics enhanced Moody’s Analytics collateralized debt obligation (CDO) product suite and added mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and asset-backed securities (ABS) analytical software capabilities.

Flexible System Architectures for Integration with Proprietary Systems

Wall Street Analytics' valuation and structured analytics offerings were Windows-based applications developed in Visual C++, and they supported SQL Server, Oracle, and Access-based solutions. They were easily integrated with clients' back-office systems. In addition, a team of specialists was maintained to help extract and deliver special data requests for clients. Such versatility and support were carried forward to Moody's Analytics, where they remain hallmarks of our offerings.

Unparalleled Structured Finance Software, Data, and Valuation Services

Wall Street Analytics was founded in 1987, and the company provided products and support to more than 100 clients around the world, including leading asset management firms, investment banks, trustees, and institutional investors. Its software and data products – CDOnet, CDOEdge, and Structured Finance Workstation – were widely recognized for uniquely supporting detailed analyses of the most sophisticated structured debt products. In addition, the valuations team had extensive experience assisting clients in understanding the value of these complex instruments through a combination of industry, market, and technical knowledge.
